1.1 Preface
The modem is the industry’s best SHDSL transceivers for consumer, enterprise and mobile backhaul SHDSL applications, and offer symmetric data rates of up to 5.7 Mbps in standard mode and up to 15 Mbps proprietary rate. The modem features a variety of topologies, which extend up to  4 Ethernet ports with integrated switch to the SHDSL line. The E1 interface  extends traditional E1 services transparently over DSL network. The modem converts the data stream coming from its TDM ports into Ethernet packets that are encapsulated using TDM over IP method and forwarded over Ethernet. The primary objective of this manual is to help network administrator operate GSHDSL. BIS bridge and router product. 1.2 Overview

With the symmetrical data transmission up to 15Mbps* 4 (pair) = 60Mbps in the EFM application mode over the ordinary telephone line, SHDSL satisfies the needs of multiple user of small office/home office (SOHO), who needs both bandwidth and permanent data connection.  Although SHDSL transmits data over the telephone line, it does not interrupt the voice because it uses different frequency for data transmission. Therefore, the end-users are able to access internet and to talk over the telephone simultaneously.
